Tragedy strikes California motorcyclist

California Highway Police were recently called to a ghastly scene in the aftermath of a collision. Sadly, the incident resulted in a fatality. It was just before 7 p.m. on a recent Tuesday when the motorcycle accident occurred.   Vehicle struck the back of the motorcycle  Preliminary investigations show that the motorcycle was traveling north on I-5 moments before a vehicle struck it from behind. The sudden impact of the collision caused the rider to be ejected from the motorcycle. After being sent airborne into the roadway, a tractor-trailer ran over the motorcyclist.   Three lanes of traffic shut down   It was some time before three nearby traffic lanes could be opened for travel after police and rescuers arrived at the scene. No details were provided as to what may have caused the person driving the vehicle behind the motorcycle to fail to stop in time before causing a rear-end collision. Many similar collisions that have occurred in the past were later found to have been caused by driver negligence.   Fatal motorcycle accidents often lead to litigation  When a spouse or other family member learns that a loved one has been killed in a motorcycle accident, they are met with an irreparable loss.
